🔥 Multiple Cities Issue Reports After CCTV Exposure

On August 23, CCTV's "Financial Investigation" program reported on the chaotic sale of veterinary drugs without prescriptions in multiple locations. Some vendors sold prescription veterinary drugs freely, while some farmers determined medication dosages based purely on intuition, raising concerns about drug residue hazards. Following the program's broadcast, multiple regions released situation reports.

🔥 Night Market Stall Monthly Rent Reaches 270,000 RMB: Running a Stall Costs More Than Opening a Store

Recently, the topic of a night market stall with a monthly rent of 270,000 RMB has drawn widespread attention, as the cost of street vending has long ceased to be low. Currently, expenses such as night market stall rents, ingredients, and equipment continue to rise. Ordinary stalls cost thousands of RMB per month in rent, and even a 9-square-meter "prime location" stall was auctioned for 270,000 RMB for a 30-day usage right. Running a stall now costs more than opening a store.

🔥 State Media Comments on Hunan Elderly Assistance Compensation Incident

On August 24, CCTV.com commented on the "Hunan Elderly Assistance Compensation Incident," stating that the law cannot simply smooth things over. Previously, on August 23, an elderly person in Hunan collapsed and died after resting in a chess and card room. The shop owner assisted in sending the person to the hospital, and the family demanded 100,000 RMB in compensation, which was reduced through mediation to 19,000 RMB and already paid. The commentary emphasized that successful mediation does not equate to correct handling, calling for clear legal characterization of the shop owner's responsibilities—those who are at fault should bear responsibility, and those who are not should stand firm.

🔥 Bride's Fingerprint Deleted by Father on Wedding Day Two

Recently, in Xi'an, Shaanxi, a newlywed woman discovered that she could not open her smart door lock when preparing to stay at her parents' home for two days after the wedding. It turned out that on the second day after the wedding, her father deleted her fingerprint unlock, claiming the fingerprint recognition was unreliable and asking her to use a key instead. Ms. Xiao found the situation both hilarious and exasperating.

🎬 Is It Necessary to Make Movies This Long After a 3-Hour Theater Visit?

The 2026 summer season features an accumulation of ultra-long films: "Odyssey" at 173 minutes, "Empty Gun" at 160 minutes, with multiple films breaking the traditional 120–130 minute range. While ultra-long films carry epic narrative ambitions, they also bring challenges such as audience fatigue and reduced cinema scheduling. The article points out that runtime is merely a container rather than a quality benchmark. Being long is fine, but every minute must have a reason for existing. Audiences pay for stories, not for runtime.
