🏆 Wei Dongyi Wins Second Class Prize in National Natural Science Award

Peking University's "Wei God" has achieved something new again. On July 8, the project "Mathematical Research on the Mechanism of Flow Transition," completed by Professor Zhang Zhifei of the School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University and Associate Professor Wei Dongyi (tenured), won the Second Class Prize in the 2025 National Natural Science Award. This project solved core fluid dynamics problems such as the pseudo-spectral bound conjecture for the Olsen vortex operator, providing a brand-new mathematical framework for turbulence research. From the Olympic gold medalist of the past to today's academic award winner, every time Wei Dongyi appears, people feel that—geniuses can indeed keep marching forward.

🌪️ Typhoon "Triple Threat" Warning: After Bavi and Mesac, Are There Two More?

This year's typhoon season seems particularly lively. Super Typhoon "Bavi" has reached level 17+ and is about to enter China's 48-hour warning zone, bringing widespread wind and rain to the eastern coastal areas starting from the 10th. Before the residual vortex of "Mesac" has completely dissipated, the Central Meteorological Observatory has already forecasted that about two more typhoons may form in the western North Pacific over the next 10 days. Consequently, G.E.M.'s concert in Hangzhou was canceled. With this density, it feels like the typhoons are rushing to meet their KPIs.

Alipay customer service subsequently responded that they had received feedback and were handling it urgently. Although it wasn't a large-scale outage, having issues like this around the monthly repayment date is indeed nerve-wracking—after all, Huabei bills serve as such a "stimulating" reminder method.
